Hello!

In 7 days my father and I will be on a plane and flying to Portugal to begin our adventure!

Before we go, I thought it would be nice to do a bit of an introduction for each of us. So if you’d like to learn more about us, keep on reading!

As you are likely aware, my name is Hannah, and I am 27 years old. I was born and raised in British Columbia and have worked as a Paramedic for the last 4.5 years. I love hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, and more. I have always had a deep desire to travel and explore the world, but not many opportunities to actually do so, until about 1 year ago. My Dad first introduced me to the Camino, and now I am excited (and overwhelmed) to leave North America for the first time, and participate in a life changing pilgrimage. I was raised Catholic, so this pilgrimage has an even deeper meaning for me as we visit Churches, historical sites, and walk the route that thousands of other Catholics have walked to reach the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral where Saint James the Apostle is buried.

Hello! I am Tony, Hannah’s Dad. I am 65 years young, and grew up in New Brunswick, Canada. I made my way to British Columbia as a Frontier Apostle with the Catholic Church. I have 3 beautiful daughters, and 3 wonderful grandchildren (with a 4th on the way)! I was working at a pro-life table in Prince George and someone I had met there started telling me about the Camino, approximately 6 years ago now. I always thought it would be a great idea to do so I began planning to go alone, but that fell through. It wasn’t until Hannah asked me if I was still going to go that I began thinking about it again. With a kick in the butt, I agreed to make plans and go if Hannah came with me! That brings us to here, 7 days away from our trip.

We are very excited to embark on this trip as we count down the days! Keep an eye out for further posts before we leave, and please keep praying for us! Thanks for reading!

Buen Camino!
