Hello! After fixing some technical difficulties, I am finally able to post! Unfortunately I couldn’t post Day 2 on time, hence why this is late, but there shouldn’t be issues from here on out!

Since I last posted we made it from Lisbon to Fatima, but not without excitement. Halfway through the flight to Lisbon I got extremely nauseous and realized that the GI bug some family members had before I left was now passed on to me. With the help of gravol and vomit bags on standby, I was able to get through the flight, bus ride and walk to our hotel. But I definitely would never want to do that again haha.

When we got to the hotel we were 3 hours before check-in, but they let us go to our room. When we got up to it, it actually wasn’t done yet, so all the cleaning staff on that floor teamed up and power cleaned the room! I was sooo thankful because all I wanted was to be horizontal. Once we got our room, I laid down and stayed in bed for 24 hours recovering.

Unfortunately this wasn’t how I would’ve wanted to spend my first day in Portugal, but I am very grateful we have a proper hotel room to stay in. The worst has since passed, and now I’m on the mend.

Otherwise, it has been interesting trying to navigate a country where you don’t speak the language! So far we’ve found people who can speak broken english to help us, but I really wish I could at least read and understand all the signage. Or even when buying a train ticket, it would’ve been great to know some simple words (thankfully Google translate is a thing). But that is all part of the journey I suppose!

I’ll leave it here for now and soon be posting for Day 3. Thanks for reading. Please pray for us and for our health!

Buen Camino!
