Happy Sunday, everyone!!
Hello and welcome back. Today was a long day. We did 20km, both leaving at 7am. We got to see the most beautiful sunrise, and we met some lovely new friends! 2 men from the US, and a married couple from Canada! The couple actually lives in BC, too! We enjoyed walking with them and having lunch together.
Today was another 26degree day, too hot for us to be walking with packs, etc. Shade was minimal, but thankfully we had a nice flat path the entire way. By the time we reached town my Dad was completely spent. I still had some energy, but I was feeling a lot grumpier than usual. The heat gets to us all, one way or another.
We are staying at a hostel run by the Augustinian Nuns in the town. They are the most loving people, and offer so much help to the pilgrims! It is truly an honour to be here with them. This afternoon we rested lots, had some quiet time, and visited with some friends. I attended a beautiful Sunday Mass, (we both also went last night), and then had some food and drinks with new friends! I just love how often we are making new friends and actually spending time together.
Other than that, not much to report. No further blisters or injuries, just exhaustion. Tomorrow is a 17km day, but it will be cooler so we hope it won’t hit us as bad.
We hope you are all doing well back home and enjoying life as best you can. God Bless,
Hannah and Tony
I’m really enjoying your photos and commentary Hannah.
Could you please include the names of the towns you are staying at in your posts?
Buen Camino!
