Hello! Today we completed 18km (I’m pretty sure) and got to get another small village called El Burgo Ranero. Today was a relatively tough day for us both. My Dad and I were both feeling quite exhausted, and he even commented on how much slower I seemed to be. Which, I was slower for sure. So naturally I made sure to have at least one nap on the trail!
I’m not going to lie – I was grumpy today. Tired, and grumpy. My family knows well that when I don’t sleep enough it can easily catch up to me and then I’m just in a constant state of grumpiness haha. I’ve gotten better over time and with shift work, but I’m not perfect. This gave me a different cross to hear today, something to pray about and work on. God has been humbling me throughout this trip and today was no exception.
When we got to town and got organized I immediately took a nap which was lovely. We were invited to join a communal dinner by one of the gentlemen in our room, and we ended up eating with about 12 people! Pasta is the food of choice almost daily, and I’m starting to think I’ll go home weighing more than when I left!
Today I walked in my sandals in an effort to help my blisters heal and it definitely helped, but now I think I’m getting a new blister in a different spot, it never ends! So pray for me and my silly little blisters that threaten my ability to walk, haha. It’s an early night for both of us and we are looking forward to lots of sleep. Tomorrow is another 18km day (roughly), so we’ll need it!
I hope y’all are well!! God Bless,
Hannah and Tony
Oh Hannah, so sorry for you getting so many blisters. Praying they will heal quickly, and get no more. I can’t imagine walking with blisters on your feet. Praying for you 🙏
Hannah – do you have some Compeed anti-blister pads? And some lambs wool?
If you don’t see if some of the other pilgrims will share with you. Or go to a chemist – they definitely have the compeed. – and they are brilliant when you feel a hot spot coming on.
Good luck with your sleep 😴
