Drugs are the best!
A few days ago “Hector” the author of the book titled, “Hector. The Path Taken” about his journey on the Camino with his youngest son, introduced me to the wonderful world of Ibuprofen! My ankles no longer hurt and my walking speed has increased. Now back to business.
Today we took a day off to rest and explore some of the city of Leon, Spain. The city has approximately 200,000 people and dates back to its beginning as a military encampment in 29 BC! It is a large and at the same time a quaint city. I really liked it. We both slept in today, a luxury for sure! We had breakfast and headed of to Mass at the Leon Cathedral. It was a high mass and the singing was amazing! We toured the cathedral and saw much amazing art and history. After mass we met a women who we had met earlier and an American couple with her. We had coffee and visited for a while. I went to see the Basilica de San Isidoro and Hannah was looking at arrangements for us to depart for home. Hannah is to be applauded for her companionship, her work at the daily posts and other travel arrangements! I am proud to have her here with me on this journey!
We spent the rest of the day enjoying Leon.
We have travelled along old Roman roads and have been exposed to a culture and history that is unimaginably old. I have met Christ within others and I am humbled by the people of Spain and the Camino. I thank God for every day!
Missing and loving you all,
Hannah and Tony
Tony! It’s wonderful to read your post. I love the words you use to honour and acknowledge Hannah.
I agree wholeheartedly! 👏👏👏
Hannah is a very special person with many wonderful gifts which she shares willingly. You are blessed to have her as your daughter.
And I am pleased that you’ve had such a positive pilgrimage this year. It certainly sounds as if it had been a journey of blessings.
Buen Camino!!!😘
