Hello, it feels like it’s been so long since I posted! These past few days have been a complete blur. All I know is that Monday morning we left Leon, and ended up somewhere. Don’t ask me where, I can’t remember. I’ve been hustling every day to catch up to my Dad, and in the evenings it’s been a lot of research and planning to get us back to Toulouse, France so we can fly home soon. So it’s been busy and full and exciting, to say the least.
I was looking for some photos to post and I don’t even have many from Monday! So I’ll add some random ones, too.
My Dad left significantly earlier than me on Monday so I was really working to catch up. Between better sleep and pain management he’s like a whole new man on the Camino! It’s pretty cool to see. So it’s a good challenge for me to hustle and catch up, but also exhausting at times since I don’t stop until I get to him.
I think Monday was also around 18km. That seems to be our average lately, which works out perfectly for us. Monday night we stayed at a lovely hostel in an old school house. The original building sustained a lot of damage in a fire so they built it back up and turned it into a hostel for pilgrims. Often there are volunteers running them, so for our stay we had an Australian couple running it. They were just so sweet and kind, offering more love and assistance than we could have expected! There were only 6 of us staying there that night so we got to have an intimate little group discussion about our experiences so far. Everyone shared so openly and it was beautiful to get to hear their stories.
All in all, it was a good day, and we were so grateful for one of the best stays on the Camino! Dad gave a solid 9.5/10 rating and I gave a 10/10.
Talk soon, love you all!
Hannah and Tony
P.S: yesterdays post was written by my Dad, in case there was any confusion!
Sounds like a very special experience in a wonderful place Hannah 💜
